OUR CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABILITY IN AIR AND SEA FREIGHT

CO2 emissions offsetting
Currently, it is not yet possible to completely avoid CO2 emissions during transport. Unfortunately, main runs that take place by air or sea, as well as pre- and on-carriage, are usually very CO2-intensive.
We don’t want to wait any longer until there are technical solutions to this at some point. Our customers can optionally fully offset the CO2 emissions generated during the transport of their shipments in globally certified climate protection projects. Our selected environmental projects contribute both to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to improving biodiversity. We can therefore support you as our customer in your CO2– reporting and offer you full visibility at shipment level.
Let’s take action together to fight climate change and its effects!
Supporting a sustainable supply chain
- Wherever possible, we shift pre-carriages and on-carriages of containers to rail. As a shareholder of TCU, we are actively working on shifting container transports to rail in order to only effect the last mile by truck.
- Alternatively, container pre- and on-carriage to/from the port are shifted to the barge, so that only the last mile by truck is shown here
- Energy-efficient and innovative warehouses are used throughout the Group.
- 99% of the Group’s own trucks meet the highest Euro 6 standard for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- Group-wide investment in alternative drive systems for heavy commercial vehicles.
